TIP: It is important to note that keeping my calories up and protein in the correct range was very tricky. A higher protein intake pushed my glucose up and sent me out of the highest GKI levels. However, I found a way to balance this out. It’s easy to slip into high protein ranges on high-fat foods, especially when you get into meats, steaks, and protein powders. However, some doctors say each body will deal with this differently.
